How Navigate 9s works

The short version of the rules, as the site scores them. Season 2026-27.

The week

Nine holes, any day from Wednesday to Tuesday night, scored on the MiScore app. The nine alternates each week, front then back. Scores come through overnight and the ladder updates; results and prizes are published once the week is finalised on Wednesday morning.

One Navs round a week counts. If you play twice, the first card is the one that scores.

Your handicap

Everyone starts on a 9-hole playing handicap: half your GA handicap if you have one, last season’s finishing figure if you played Navs last year, otherwise 10 for men and 23 for women.

From week 2 it moves every week. It is the average of your last four scores against par (gross minus the par of the nine you played), rounded to the nearest whole number. A week with no card does not move it. Your card shows the figure you play off each week and what next week’s will be.

The GA handicap on your card is for information. It does not change your Navs handicap.

Team scores and the ladder

Your nett is gross minus your playing handicap. Each week the team’s score is the sum of its best 5 netts; a player with no card counts as 45. The ladder ranks teams on their average weekly score.

After week 8 the field splits into two divisions on the ladder, and each division starts again from zero. Handicaps carry on unchanged. The top four in each division after week 16 play the grand final.

Grades and prizes

Grades come off your playing handicap that week: A is 8 or less, B is 9 to 14, C is 15 or more. You can move grade from one week to the next.

Cash each week in each grade: $60 for the best nett and $30 for second. Players level on nett share the places they occupy, so two tied for first split $90 and nobody is paid second.

Balls go to the best 45.5% of the cards returned that week. Balls are collected from the pro shop; your card shows how many are waiting for you.

Double par

No hole counts for more than double its par. If you go over, pick up; the hole is counted as double par and the real score stays on your card, marked.

Signing in

Players and captains sign in with the email address on their team’s roster: a one-time link, no password. Captains add their players’ emails under My team. If your email is not on the roster yet, ask your captain to add it.

Questions about the rules go to the club. The ladder and stats are open to everyone.
